闪电

闪电是云与云之间、云与地之间或者云体内各部位之间的强烈放电现象（一般发生在积雨云中）。

一听到打雷，很多朋友的脑海里可能会浮现它的种种危害。

那么今天，我们就跟大家分享下雷电的小常识，打雷闪电时我们到底应该怎么办？

（1）Keep an eye on the sky and listen for the sound of thunder.

密切注视天空,听打雷的声音。

（2）If you see or hear a thunderstorm coming or your hair stands on end, go inside immediately!

如果你看到或听到雷雨来了，你的头发根也都竖起来,立即进入室内!

（3）If you can't get to a shelter, stay away from trees.

如果你不能得到一个避难所,远离树木

（4）Avoid touching metal!

避免接触金属物体!

（5）Get out of the water.

远离水

（6）Move away from a group of people.

我的暴风雨故事

On July 5, 1973 the most amazing thunderstorm I have ever seen happened near my home on Long Island. On Long Island, the scariest part of a thunderstorm is lightning. I loved and feared lightning, and that day I experienced a storm that I would remember for the rest of my life.

1973年7月5日，在我长岛的家附近，我所见过的最令人惊叹的雷雨。在长岛，雷雨中最可怕的部分是闪电。我爱闪电，也害怕闪电，那一天我经历了一场暴风雨，我将终生铭记。

 

That morning, the voice on the weather radio warned about a number of strong thunderstorms moving towards Long Island. It said there was a lot of lightning traveling with these storms. I was excited because I liked incredible storms.

那天早上，天气广播里的声音警告说，有许多强雷雨正向长岛移动。据说在这些风暴中有很多闪电在移动。我很兴奋，因为我喜欢难以置信的暴风雨。

 

I went outside and looked up. Although it was a humid morning,I could see dark gray clouds appearing in the sky. Soon, the sky was dark and I heard loud sounds in the air.

我走出去，抬起头来。虽然是一个潮湿的早晨，但我可以看到天空中出现了深灰色的云彩。不久，天空黑了，我听到空中传来很大的雷声。

The thunder had grown louder and sharper. The dark cloud was really near me.A little later, the darkest part of the cloud was directly overhead and the Lightning bolts danced quite close. Loud, crashing thunder followed less than 5 seconds after the lightning.

雷声越来越大，越来越尖锐。乌云离我很近。过了一会儿，云层中最黑暗的部分就在头顶上，闪电在空中飞舞。闪电之后不到5秒，闪电就发出了巨大的轰鸣声

 

Then, suddenly it hit. First there was a loud hiss that moved quickly overhead, which was followed a second later by a bolt of lightning into the next-door neighbour's house. I almost fell.

然后,突然袭击。首先是一声响亮的嘶嘶声，在头顶迅速移动，紧接着是一道闪电，击中了隔壁邻居的房子，我差点被吓倒了。

Another bright flash from behind was followed immediately by a loud crash of thunder. I ran inside. Heavy rain and wind continued as lightning hit the ground again and again. After about ten minutes the storm was over and the rain became gentle.

从后面又有一道闪光，紧接着是一声巨响。我跑进去。暴雨和大风继续着，闪电一次又一次地击中地面。大约十分钟后，暴风雨过去了，雨变得温和了。

 

When the storm ended I learned that lightning damaged houses on both sides of mine and had hit a group of trees just behind the house. Two crows were found dead. The lightening had caused dishes to fall from shelves and pictures to fall off walls in my house. Half of the house had no electricity. The next-door neighbours television was damaged.

暴风雨结束后，我得知闪电损坏了我两边的房子，并击中了房子后面的一群树,有两只乌鸦死了。闪电使我家里的盘子从架子上掉下来，图画也从墙上掉下来。房子的一半没有电，隔壁邻居的电视机坏了。
